Bespoke Furniture By Tomas & Jani
Slovenian born Jani Lemut was trained for seven years as a classical cabinet maker in his capital town of Ljublijana.
His passion for bespoke furniture surfaced in London in 1992, where he established his first workshop designing and building his own unique pieces.
He arrived in West Cornwall by chance at the request of a client and the rest is history. He established his current workshop, alongside Tomas Spencer, just outside St Ives in Halsetown where he remains today.
T & J's ethos is old rustic. Old reclaimed materials are used to make beautiful inlaid tables and chairs, beds, lamps, every request a challenge.
The style however will always have the T & J 'look '- the furniture will be traditional in appearance yet compliant with the demands of modern day living, their rustic simplicity will belie a clever and interesting design of contemporary sophistication. When these old materials do not lend themselves to new plans T & J have developed ways of ensuring anything new has the 'look' sympathetic with the patina of time - ageing doors, floors, shutters, staircases, and most importantly furniture.
The company is always happy to accept a wide range of briefs from private clients and known interior designer, creating highly individual bespoke pieces that are incorporated into a large spectrum, unique to any project.
All the pieces illustrated can be ordered and different colours and finishes can be specified.
